When is the deposit due, and what if I need to reschedule?

For portrait sessions, your deposit is due when you book your session date, whether that is done before or at your initial consultation. Deposits are non-refundable, but may be applied to another session date if you must reschedule. Time frames apply for rescheduling. Please give at least one week notice of cancellation, otherwise a $50 fee will be required to book another session date with your original deposit. The additional fee will NOT be applied to your print or disc order.

For weddings, your deposit is due when you book your wedding date, whether that is done before or at your initial consultation. Deposits are non-refundable, but may be applied to another wedding date if you must reschedule. Time frames apply for rescheduling. Please give at least two months notice of cancellation, otherwise a $250 fee will be required to book another date with your original deposit.

What happens during our initial consultation?

Our initial consultation together serves many purposes. Most importantly, we get to know you, your dreams, and what you're expecting from this experience. At the same time, you get to know us, how we work, and whether we're a good match for you. For portrait sessions, we will discuss locations that you love and decide which one best meets your needs, along with appropriate clothing choices. For weddings, we will discuss your engagement session, the timeline and details of your day, and any products we need to prepare ahead of time. Finally, we will book your dates, including your viewing and ordering session, and collect any deposit not already paid. We invite you to our home showroom for your initial consultation, but if you're not local we can arrange an alternate method.

Where will we have our portrait session?

Location is something we will discuss at your initial consultation. We are on-location photographers, so your session can be at your home with natural light pouring in the windows, at an outdoor place that's meaningful to you, or a place that we decide on together. We'll take the expectations and vision you have for your photographs and match them with the appropriate location. We happen to love industrial and funky spots for their textures and attitude, but will work with any location to make great photos. We travel within 30 miles of Burlington, Kentucky, but would be happy to travel outside of that radius. Simply ask about our travel rates.

Why don't you give prints or a disc with your session/event fee?

We certainly believe that your images deserve to be printed – they deserve to be on your wall, on your coffee table, and in your wallet so you
can show everyone. We also believe that your images deserve to be in digital form – they deserve to be shared online, used as your computer wallpaper, on your smart phone, and backed up for years to come. They don't deserve to be thrown in a storage box or trapped on a disc, never to see the light again.

For these reasons, but because we don't want to dictate the amount, size, or form of the images you receive, we have a very open and custom approach in which prints and discs are sold separately. There are no cookie-cutter packages that limit your options, and you can get exactly what you want. If you are more traditional and enjoy printed images, then you have a chance to create your perfect collection of printed images and products. If you are technically savvy, then we are proud to give you the option of high resolution images on a disc. And if you are somewhere in between, then we will gladly help you create a mix of printed products to go along with a disc. Whatever you dream.

What is a private viewing and ordering session?

When we book your session/event date, we will also schedule your viewing and ordering session based on when your images should be ready. This is a unique experience where we invite you into our home showroom to view your images, and help you decide on the perfect prints and products to fulfill your dreams. We will have signature wall gallery layouts and other resources available to help you visualize collections in your home. Although little ones love seeing themselves on screen, it is best that only older children and adults attend this session to reduce distractions that could take away from your experience.
